Gatto Rosso — “the red cat” — is a cosy, family-run trattoria on Bluff Road in Black Rock. Run by owners from Northern Italy, the kitchen turns out wood-fired thin-base pizza, house-made pasta and risotto, and classic mains and dolci, all prepared fresh in-house.

Around twenty seats, candle-lit and unhurried — the kind of room where regulars book ahead and stay late.

Everything starts at the wood oven.

Thin-base pizza, blistered fast in the wood fire — from a simple Margherita to the house Kamikaze. Pasta, gnocchi and ravioli are made in-house, and the risotto carries mushroom and black truffle.
